CAMP'S GREATEST NEED IN 2024...
Will you help Camp Arrah Wanna recover from 3 disasters that have greatly exhausted our resources...
Although Camp’s services and offerings have not wavered, accomplishing our core goals has become very challenging due to multiple crises that happened earlier this year. Your financial contributions today will directly support our efforts in recovering and rebuilding from:
1 - January Winter Storm Event:
$65,000+ in damages
CAW has spent upwards of $65,000 on repairs after the January winter storm hit us with accumulating snow, loss of power, downed trees, and sub-freezing temps for almost 12 days. The forced cancellation of multiple contracted guest groups and costly repairs were definitely not in the 2024 budget.
2 - April Laundry Room Mechanical Fire:
$25,000+ in damages
Camp also experienced a damaging mechanical fire in our Laundry room the first week of April, which is adding another chunk of unexpected expenses to our 2024 spending.
3 - July 14th Maintenance Shop Fire:
$800,000+ in damages
The night before our own Summer Campers were due to arrive, a fire broke out inside our Maintenance Shop and burned it to the ground. We are SO thankful nobody was hurt, and that the Hoodland Fire Department was able to contain the blaze, but this devistating event has make operations difficult during our busiest time of year.
Insurance: although Camp property is insured, our carrier is only covering about half of the cost to rebuild & restock after the Maintenance Shop Fire. We are not receiving any insurance benefits for the first 2 disasters.
